ol-map

The core component of vue3-openlayers

This is the main container for all other vue3-openlayers components and has one default slot to place them all. Usually you will use it together with ol-view component to setup zoom, center, projection and other view related propeties for the map.

Usage

Example of a simple map. See also documentation of ol-view component.

vue
<template>
  <ol-map
    :loadTilesWhileAnimating="true"
    :loadTilesWhileInteracting="true"
    style="height: 400px"
  >
    <ol-view
      ref="view"
      :center="center"
      :rotation="rotation"
      :zoom="zoom"
      :projection="projection"
    />

    <ol-tile-layer>
      <ol-source-osm />
    </ol-tile-layer>
  </ol-map>
</template>

<script setup>
import { ref } from "vue";

const center = ref([40, 40]);
const projection = ref("EPSG:4326");
const zoom = ref(8);
const rotation = ref(0);
</script>
<template>
  <ol-map
    :loadTilesWhileAnimating="true"
    :loadTilesWhileInteracting="true"
    style="height: 400px"
  >
    <ol-view
      ref="view"
      :center="center"
      :rotation="rotation"
      :zoom="zoom"
      :projection="projection"
    />

    <ol-tile-layer>
      <ol-source-osm />
    </ol-tile-layer>
  </ol-map>
</template>

<script setup>
import { ref } from "vue";

const center = ref([40, 40]);
const projection = ref("EPSG:4326");
const zoom = ref(8);
const rotation = ref(0);
</script>

Props from OpenLayers

Properties are passed-trough from OpenLayers directly. Their types and default values can be checked-out in the official OpenLayers docs. Only some properties deviate caused by reserved keywords from Vue / HTML. This deviating props are described in the section below.

Deviating Properties

None.

Events

You have access to all Events from the underlying source. Check out the official OpenLayers docs to see the available events tht will be fired.

html
<ol-map @error="handleEvent">
  <!-- ... -->
</ol-map>
<ol-map @error="handleEvent">
  <!-- ... -->
</ol-map>

Methods

You have access to all Methods from the underlying source. Check out the official OpenLayers docs to see the available methods.

To access the source, you can use a ref() as shown below:

vue
<template>
  <!-- ... -->
  <ol-map ref="mapRef" @error="handleEvent">
    <!-- ... -->
  </ol-map>
  <!-- ... -->
</template>

<script setup lang="ts">
import { ref, onMounted } from "vue";
import type Map from "ol/Map";

const mapRef = ref<{ map: Map }>(null);

onMounted(() => {
  const map: Map = mapRef.value?.map;
  // call your method on `map`
});
</script>
<template>
  <!-- ... -->
  <ol-map ref="mapRef" @error="handleEvent">
    <!-- ... -->
  </ol-map>
  <!-- ... -->
</template>

<script setup lang="ts">
import { ref, onMounted } from "vue";
import type Map from "ol/Map";

const mapRef = ref<{ map: Map }>(null);

onMounted(() => {
  const map: Map = mapRef.value?.map;
  // call your method on `map`
});
</script>
